BIG OIL PANTY PROTEST (B.O.P.P.)

LOCATED ON THE GROUNDS OF PIRATE ISLAND DAIQUIRI ON LA. HWY. 1 Saturday, April 23 · 5:00pm - 7:00pm Are you fed up with BP's cover-up of oil on our beaches and lack of response to clean our marshes and wetlands? Are you fed up with your federal government and it's agencies for not enforcing their own recommendations not to use the toxic chemicals Corexit 9500 and Corexit 9527, thus allowing BP to poison our water, getting humans sick in the process and killing our mammals and wildlife? Are you fed up with the GCCF Administra...tor, Mr. "F", for not paying your claim? He knows where his next spoonful of grub is coming from. But, we don't! $1.25 million dollars per month is an insult to all Gulf Coast residents NOT being paid for their losses. Are you just plain ole' fed up with BIG OIL? Well if your panties are in a wad and you want to unwad them to symbolize this protest, bring them on over to the "BIG OIL PANTY PROTEST" to be held on the beach in Grand Isle on April 23, 2011 in conjunction with other events to be held the same day (see below). We shall "EXPOSE" them all when we take off our panties (not really - just a figure of speech!) and hold a "Mock Burning" in protest! Remember the burning of bras in the 1960's to call attention to the feminist movement? Well, they really didn't burn their bra's that day, but many women did remove their bras and burn them wherever they were in support of the movement. So, if you can't attend, I ask you take a pair of panties and hold a Mock burning in solidarity at 5:00p.m. on April 23, 2011 to show your support! Take pictures so you can post them here on this page and show us what you did. Gather friends and have a panty party wherever you are! Please keep the photos clean if posting! We shall conduct a peaceful protest for the lack of response and cover-up of the clean-up and health issues experienced by many Gulf residents. Bring as many (clean only!) panties as you wish to contribute to the cause. You can also make signs and/or "panty" flags - no vulgar language please! Donations will be accepted to help the Grand Isle Fishermen/Residents who are suffereing due to non-payment or very little payment from the GCCF. For each panty brought in with a donation (any amount), a "MOCK PANTY" made of "clean burning" material will be given to burn. In turn, the donated panties will all be strung together and displayed until 6:30 p.m. at which time the two ends of the line will be tied together to form a circle. Everyone wishing to participate can hold a portion of the line while we walk around in a circle in complete SILENCE to call attention to the extinction our world is headed into if we don't hold Big Oil accountable and responsible for their pollution of our Earth. The circle will also symbolize our never ending "watch" to keep our environment clean. Register for the B.O.P.P. contest when you arrive. The person who brings the most panties wins! (Clean only please!) First place - Panty Crown Second place - Panty trophy Third place - Boobie prize The B.O.P.P. will be dedicated to the following individuals and/or corporations/agencies for lack of respect to human life, wildlife, mammals, all organisms in the Gulf and a lack of respect to our environment, our only planet, Earth. Barack Obama - President of the US British Petroleum - GREEDY OIL COMPANY Tony Hayward - BP Ex-CEO Kenneth Feinberg - GCCF Administrator - No heart! BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg’s - small people remark Robert (Bob) Dudley - BP CEO Andy Inglis - BP-Former Head of Exploration and Production BP Trolls on Face-Book - you know who you are! Transocean - Owner and operator of Deep Water Horizon Halliburton - Faulty Cement Cameron - Built the BOP that failed MMS - Minerals Management Service - Failed to enforce safety regulations NOAA - National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration - Failed to protect our wetlands USCG - United State Coast Guard - Allowed BP to poison our Gulf Admiral Thad W. Allen - National Incident Commander for USCG Environmental Protection Agency - Failed to protect our environment/Gulf waters by allowing Corexit to continue to be sprayed. Lisa P. Jackson - Administrator/EPA - Allowed toxins in our Gulf I would love for thousands to attend to really make a statement to our Government - We're not going to allow foreign or domestic oil companies to destroy our culture or our lives or our environment... without a fight! We deserve to live with clean air, clean water, and clean soil.
